I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy who provides specialized services to patients diagnosed with breast cancer. I utilize evidence-based interventions to improve the tolerance of cancer related treatments, optimize available function, and reduce deterioration as a patient navigates their recovery. In addition to my Doctorate, I have two unique certifications that help me support this community of survivors.
I am a Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist. In February 2019, I attended two consecutive certification courses at the Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute in Denver, Colorado. These courses provided didactic and clinical education that focused on a physiological body systems approach to the treatment of breast cancer patients. This course has been a game changer in my thought process and clinical framework in continuing to build a breast cancer rehabilitation program for our survivors. I am only one of five therapists who has attained this certification in New Jersey.
In August 2014, I became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist at the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy. This has allowed me to manage the clinical presentation of lymphedema in the breast cancer population and assist patients in risk reduction practices for optimal healing.
I believe that rehabilitation should be a standard component of oncology care, while contributing significantly to improving the quality of life for our survivors. I look forward to working with David’s Dream & Believe CancerFoundation to serve our community in the best way possible.
