Dr. Taryn Parascand, DACM, is an NJ licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and certified herbalist (CH). Taryn has a B..A. in Psychology and earned her Master’s in Science Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) with a Chinese herbal certificate in 2009, completed her doctoral degree in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine in 2020, and is certified with the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

With a long-time love of continuing education and healing, Dr. Taryn has been learning, practicing, & teaching in the holistic medicine field for 20 years. It all started with a yoga teacher training in 2000 in a Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas leading to a deeper interest in eastern healing arts.

Ongoing education includes Reiki Master (2005), Ama Deus Healing Energy worker (2005), and Certified Labor Doula (2010), Eastern & Western herbal medicine training, apprenticeship, and certification plus Essential oils. Ongoing seminars completed include topics with acupuncture, herbs or essential oils; mental/emotional health, fertility, and addictions, orthopedic tui na, sports recovery using TCM, and qigong.

For the last 7 years, she has been a qigong student of Grandmaster Nan Lu, through tcmworld.org. She is a Certified Dragon’s Way Qigong instructor (2017), a Breast Health qigong instructor, and a Xiao Dao practitioner. Most recently Dr. Taryn has added Micro-needling to her practice and continues her studies in the art and practice of Spiritual Herbalism.

​Life and interests outside of the office include appreciating quality time here on earth with the ones she loves, raising two sons, nature, art, healing, cooking, gardening, herbal medicine making, entrepreneur, qigong, dancing and music, and naps, the Caribbean waters, and weather.

It is my honor to uphold TCM with as much integrity and respect for its culture, history, and wisdom of it. I am grateful to walk this path and be able to serve the community in this way.
