Steady as the stars in the woods
And the warmth rang true inside these bones
As the old pine fell we sang
Just to bless the morning”
~ Ben Howard – Old Pine
For fifty years, Baker’s Acres Campground has been nestled in a magestic location amongst the soaring pines and oaks, with the smell of the salt air mingling the sweet smell of wild blueberry bushes. Since 1968, when our first campers set up their tents, we’ve proudly been known as the campground, “Where Friends are Made for Life.” Some may ask, “Is that all you’re known for?” Well, no; not exactly. However we think you’ll agree that trying to squish, “Where generations of families grow together, where bare-footed children walk hand-in-hand with their grandparents, where friends reconnect around the crackle of a campfire, where kids learn to use their imaginations while they play out-of-doors and where people from all walks of life can find as much or as little peace and excitement as they so choose,” onto a brochure is really just too busy. So when we say, “Where Friends are Made for Life,” we hope you’ll remember that we mean the rest of it, as well. Most recently, we’re humbled to also be the place that welcomes the David’s Dream & Believe community and gladly offers a place of respite for David’s families affected by cancer. Thank you, David and DDBCF for allowing us to be a part of your journey.
