With the profession of teaching comes an academic responsibility for those students whom you are in charge of each year.  But one of the many gifts that we are afforded as teachers is the opportunity to teach not only their minds, but also their hearts and their souls.  In our community, David’s Dream & Believe helps those in need in so many ways.  It was my hope to give some of the youngest members of our community the opportunity to help as well.  Our group of ‘Believers,’ which consists of 1st and 2nd graders, come together before school hours to create artwork and write thoughtful, inspiring notes from the heart. Hearing the beautiful things that these children say in their messages and watching how caring and compassionate they are gives me hope that future generations will have more empathy for each other.
