Sophie is a licensed social worker currently working as a Student Assistance Counselor in a middle school. She began her involvement with David’s Dream & Believe during her senior year at Barnegat High School and has remained deeply connected to the organization, its team, and its community ever since. DD&B became a lighthouse for Sophie and her family during their grandfather, Frank “Happy” Heslin’s cancer journey. In his honor, Sophie and her sister participate each summer in Coquina Jam, a women’s surfing event benefiting the foundation. Sophie loves this community and is excited to be part of this inaugural group as she continues her work with David’s Dream & Believe.
