Tina Angers

Originally from Connecticut, I spent the latter half of my childhood years in Manahawkin, NJ. I moved back to CT for college, but it wasn’t until a few years later that I discovered my passion for Esthetics. I have always loved the therapeutic aspect of doing facials and helping people relax and unwind. I have been working as a Licensed Esthetician for the past 14 years (in NYC, NJ and CT) and currently reside in New London, CT. Being an avid runner and fitness addict my whole life, I was completely shocked to find myself sitting in a surgeon’s office on September 8th, 2015. It was riveting to hear the words, “You do have breast cancer”. I knew in that moment, that life as I knew it, would be forever changed. Gym sessions and work were suddenly interrupted with doctor’s appointments and imperative decisions. I remember feeling completely overwhelmed and scared. As a single, working woman, I was stressed out, not only about my diagnoses, but also about having to miss so much work, which was beginning to take a toll financially. On the night of October 28, 2015, I got a call from David Caldarella. I remember us both being in tears as he said, “I understand what you’re going through and I’d like to help you”. David’s Dream and Believe Cancer Foundation gave me a gift that I will never forget. I told David that night that I wanted to be able to pay that gift back someday and be able to help someone else in need when I was able to. With that being said, it is my honor to be a member of the Patient Advocate Committee
